Part time, 28 hours per week (0.8 FTE)
£22,368 actual salary (FTE salary £27,960)

ESCP Business School London is seeking a proactive and enthusiastic HR Coordinator to join our small HR team on a temporary basis covering a period of maternity leave, to help us continue to deliver an exceptional HR service across the School.

As a first point of contact for HR queries, you’ll provide responsive and professional support to colleagues across the School, while working closely with the wider HR team to deliver our departmental priorities.

This is a varied, hands-on generalist role offering exposure to the full employee lifecycle and the wider HR remit, including payroll administration, recruitment, onboarding and learning and development. You’ll play a key role in ensuring our day-to-day HR operations run smoothly and effectively.

Profile Required

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

The ideal candidate for this role will have a proactive and solutions focused approach. Being able to quickly adapt to new systems and processes, and a willingness to learn will be essential for success in this role.

Essential Requirements

  • Previous experience in an administrative role, ideally within an HR department.
  • Strong organisational skills and good time management.
  • Works to a high level of accuracy, with a keen eye for detail.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A basic understanding of HR principles and processes.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office / Google Suite (especially Word and Excel) is essential.
  • Experience of using online systems, databases and/or electronic filing systems, with experience of using an HRIS particularly desirable.
  • Able to work independently, and seek additional support when necessary.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion.

Desirable Requirements

  • Previous experience within an HR role.
  • Previous working experience in the Higher Education sector.
  • CIPD Level 3 or working towards it (or equivalent experience).
  • Experience of contributing to departmental goals.

Main Duties And Responsibilities

  • Support the HR team in delivering a full range of staff administration services, including recruitment, onboarding, payroll administration, contract management, and leaver processes.
  • Coordinate HR documentation and maintain accurate employee records in line with data protection and compliance standards.
  • Administer staff benefits and assist with general HR correspondence and day-to-day operations. Support recruitment campaigns, pre-employment checks, and onboarding to ensure a smooth employee experience.
  • Assist with HR projects and provide general administrative support as needed.
