Company Description

Senior is an international, market-leading, engineering solutions provider with 20 operating businesses in 10 countries. Senior designs and manufactures high-technology components and systems for the principal original equipment manufacturers in the worldwide aerospace, defence, land vehicle and power & energy markets. The Group is split into two divisions, Aerospace and Flexonics, servicing five key sectors.

Senior Aerospace Thermal Engineering is part of the Aerospace division and a leading aerospace components manufacturer, supplying aero engine and airframe OEMs and their Tier 1 suppliers globally.

Using high technology processes, we specialise in:

  • Hot and cold formed components in high temperature aerospace alloys
  • Complex fabricated assemblies
  • Thermal insulation heat shields and systems

Senior Aerospace Thermal Engineering has over 30 years of experience of the quality standards in the aerospace industry with certification to AS9100 rev D and accredited by NADCAP for our special processes.

Job Description

As HR Coordinator you will provide a comprehensive first line advisory service to managers and colleagues across Thermal on all people related processes covering the whole employee lifecycle. Particular focus will be on attendance and performance management, flexible working and other leave types, employee engagement and embedding our values and behaviours.

Combining operational HR support with excellent administrative capability, you will take the lead on systems; HR/Payroll, Learning Management System (LMS), Employee Engagement (“Orbit”) ensuring data is accurate and up to date and reporting is timely. Through a working understanding of employment law and best practice implementation, you will drive adoption of best practice employee relations using documentation, education and training and hands on support.

You will act as a trusted first point of contact for HR queries through inbox and colleague drop ins, maintaining the highest levels of confidentiality whilst delivering an efficient, professional and customer-focused service. You will drive employee engagement initiatives supporting both engagement survey and engagement tool actions as an ongoing programme of work.

Qualifications

Essential

  • Must have right to work in the UK
  • Educated to GCSE level in Maths and English
  • Previous experience in an HR, people administration or complex administrative role.
  • Foundational knowledge of employment law
  • Ability to build effective working relationships with employees and managers at all levels.
  • Customer-focused approach with good problem-solving skills.
  • Strong administrative skills with excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Confident in using systems, managing data and reporting.
  • Excellent organisational and prioritisation skills to meet deadlines.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills able to adapt to different audiences
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion and professionalism.
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications

Desirable

  • CIPD Level 3 Foundation Certificate in People Practice
  • Working knowledge of employment legislation and HR best practice.
  • Experience supporting employee engagement initiatives, employee forums or staff networks.
  • Supported absence and performance management processes
  • Experience of HR reporting and data analytics.
