HR & Corporate Back Office Technology Business Partner

We are looking for a HR & Corporate Back Office Technology Business Partner to join the team here at Liverpool Football Club.

You will own and support the technology and systems used by teams including HR, Legal, Procurement and Communications, driving technical change that meets business needs. As the go-to expert for HR and Corporate Back Office technology, you will champion innovation, improve processes, ensure compliance with governance and security requirements, manage key supplier relationships and work across the Club to deliver effective technology solutions.

What will you be doing?

Product Leadership & Strategy

  • Support business leads and the Senior Manager, Finance & HR Systems in shaping and delivering the technology strategy for HR, Legal, Procurement and Communications.
  • Manage the roadmap and backlog for your business areas, balancing efficiency, commercial value, user experience and innovation.
  • Drive improvements in partnership with business stakeholders and product teams.
  • Champion appropriate uses of AI to improve internal processes and systems, in line with Club policies.
  • Use data to evaluate performance, identify cost-saving opportunities and inform roadmap priorities.
  • Support the development of business cases and investment proposals for technology change.

Technology & Vendor Management

  • Manage day-to-day technical relationships with suppliers across HR and Corporate Back Office systems.
  • Evaluate and onboard new suppliers, and oversee system integrations.
  • Identify opportunities to simplify the supplier landscape where appropriate.

Operational Excellence & Compliance

  • Ensure systems, projects and suppliers meet relevant legal, governance, information security and risk requirements.
  • Promote responsible and compliant use of AI.
  • Champion strong data control, organisation and documentation across the system estate.
  • Create and monitor technical KPIs to measure system performance and effectiveness.
  • Provide subject matter expertise to help operational teams and business functions achieve the best outcomes.

Innovation & Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Lead technical change and improvements across the Club’s internal HR, Legal, Procurement and Communications technology estate.
  • Partner with teams across Liverpool FC to align system capabilities with wider business goals.
  • Work with Digital Product colleagues to incorporate HR and Corporate Back Office requirements into wider projects and improvements.
  • Support compliance activity and internal audits.

Who are we looking for?

Essential Knowledge & Experience

  • Proven experience in a senior HR technology or product role, ideally within a complex organisation.
  • Excellent stakeholder management, communication and influencing skills, with confidence engaging at all levels.
  • Ability to understand, document and present complex user journeys and information clearly.
  • Experience creating reports and using data to generate recommendations and support decisions.
  • A creative and analytical mindset, with a proactive approach to learning and independent problem-solving.
  • Experience working in Agile or Scrum environments and using tools such as Trello, Jira, GitLab or similar.
  • Working knowledge of compliance, governance and security requirements.
  • An understanding of UX/UI principles and a focus on delivering a strong user experience.
  • Experience using AI and automation to simplify processes and save time or cost.

Essential Technical & Functional Skills

  • Experience setting and monitoring KPIs, targets and performance measures.
  • Strong analytical capability, with confidence creating and interpreting reports and dashboards.
  • Experience managing third-party suppliers and collaborating with Scrum teams across multiple locations.
  • Ability to work independently, self-motivate and lead upwards.
  • Proven ability to explain the value of Agile ways of working and technical projects to non-technical audiences.
  • Confidence representing the organisation at industry events, including travel where required.

Desirable

  • Experience with systems such as Zellis MyView, Ubeya, Benefex and SharePoint.
  • Familiarity with analytics tools and business intelligence dashboards.
