The Opportunity
An established organisation is seeking an Employee Relations & Policy Manager to lead on complex employee relations casework, policy development, and HR compliance. This is a varied and influential role, balancing approximately 60% employee relations case management and 40% policy development and governance.
Working closely with senior stakeholders, you will provide expert guidance on a broad range of HR matters, helping to foster a supportive, inclusive, and solution-focused working environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage complex employee relations cases, including disciplinary, grievance, performance, absence management, organisational change, and TUPE matters.
- Provide expert advice and coaching to managers on sensitive and high-risk people issues.
- Develop, review, and implement HR policies and procedures, ensuring alignment with employment legislation and organisational values.
- Support and develop HR colleagues, promoting consistency and best practice in employee relations management.
- Analyse employee relations trends and provide insights to inform strategic decision-making.
- Build strong relationships with key stakeholders, including employee representatives and trade unions.
- Deliver training and workshops on employee relations, workplace behaviours, inclusion, and people management.
- Support organisational change initiatives and help ensure a positive employee experience throughout periods of transformation.
- Monitor legal developments and implement legislative changes into policies and working practices.

About You
We're looking for a proactive and commercially minded HR professional who can build credibility and influence at all levels.
You will ideally have:
- A Level 7 HR qualification (or equivalent experience).
- CIPD membership or a willingness to work towards it.
- Significant experience managing complex employee relations casework.
- Strong knowledge of UK employment law and current HR best practice.
- Experience advising managers on change management, restructuring, and TUPE processes.
- A track record of developing and improving HR policies and procedures.
- Experience working in partnership with trade unions and employee representatives.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and coaching skills.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities.
- Experience using HR systems and Microsoft Office applications.
