A globally recognised media organisation is looking for an experienced HR Generalist to join their London team on an initial 12-week contract, with a strong possibility of extension and potential to become a permanent opportunity.

Supporting the HR Director, this is a broad, hands-on role covering the full employee lifecycle for around 150 employees across editorial, journalism, and corporate teams. You'll be a key point of contact for day-to-day HR queries, onboarding and offboarding, recruitment support, HR administration, payroll coordination, and wider people activity.

This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys variety and taking ownership. The HR team is lean, so you'll need to be comfortable working independently, getting stuck into the detail, and using your initiative to keep things moving.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

The business is currently building its own ways of working following a recent change in structure, making this an exciting time to join. They're looking for someone who can bring organisation, attention to detail, and a pragmatic approach while supporting the team through this transition.

Payroll is an important part of the role, so you'll need confidence managing monthly changes, liaising with stakeholders, and ensuring everything is accurate and delivered on time. Experience with SAP would be highly beneficial, while Workday experience would be a bonus as the business moves towards a new HR system.
