Who We Are

Malin Group is a Glasgow-based engineering services company with a rich heritage in the marine industry, dating back over 120 years. The Group provides comprehensive, end-to-end solutions across various sectors, including shipbuilding, heavy lift, renewables, nuclear, oil & gas, and marine services. We are driven by three core values that inform every decision, every action, and every interaction. We Care, We Share and We Thrive – these three pillars form the foundation upon which our company is built.

About The Role

We are looking for an experienced and organised HR Generalist to join our team on a part-time basis, working 24 hours per week to provide maternity cover. This is a hands-on, operational HR role supporting employees and line managers across the full employee lifecycle.

As HR Generalist, you will work closely with employees and line managers to provide timely, accurate and practical HR support in line with Company procedures. You will be responsible for maintaining business-as-usual HR operations throughout the maternity cover period, ensuring HR processes continue to run efficiently and employees and managers receive a consistent and responsive service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide day-to-day HR support to employees and line managers, acting as a first point of contact for HR queries.
  • Manage recruitment and onboarding activities, including adverts, offers, pre-employment checks and new starter arrangements.
  • Support managers with probation, absence, performance and other routine employee relations matters.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records, HR systems and documentation.
  • Prepare HR letters, contracts, terms and conditions and other HR correspondence.
  • Support annual pay reviews, bonus administration and HR benchmarking.
  • Prepare HR reports and information for senior management.
  • Support the smooth running of day-to-day HR processes and other reasonable HR activities as required.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
