HR Generalist
Our new HR Generalist will play a key role in delivering a major people transformation programme as the organisation transitions to a new operating model.
Managing one HR Advisor, the role is responsible for implementing an established people strategy and supporting employees through organisational change. This includes matching employees to new roles, assessing capability against competency frameworks, leading consultation and redundancy processes where required, and ensuring a fair and compliant transition.
Working closely with the wider project team and the BAU HR function, the postholder will coordinate people-related activities, manage risks and help ensure a smooth implementation of the future organisational structure.
Responsibilities
- Lead the delivery of workforce transition activities in line with the agreed transformation plan.
- Manage and support one HR Advisor.
- Lead employee matching and assessment processes against role requirements and competency frameworks.
- Facilitate consultation, redeployment and redundancy processes where roles are impacted by organisational change.
- Partner with project teams, operational stakeholders and HR colleagues to manage people impacts and ensure a smooth transition.
- Provide HR guidance to managers and employees on organisational change and employee relations matters.
- Prepare and maintain employee communications, reports and transition documentation.
- Monitor progress, manage risks and ensure activities are delivered in a compliant and timely manner.

- Experience in a generalist HR, HR Advisor or HR Business Partner role.
- Experience delivering organisational change, restructuring, workforce transition or redundancy programmes.
- Strong working knowledge of UK employment law and employee consultation processes.
- Experience assessing employees against competency frameworks or role profiles would be advantageous.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Experience working in operational environments with frontline employees such as engineers, drivers, technicians, plant operators, shift workers or other site-based workforces.
- Understanding of workforce planning considerations within businesses operating shift patterns, rota-based working arrangements or 24/7 operations.
- Strong organisational and project management capability, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Professional, resilient and able to handle sensitive matters with discretion and fairness.
- CIPD Level 5 qualified (or equivalent experience) preferred.
