Location: Devon
An established manufacturing organisation is looking for an experienced HR professional to join its on-site team in Devon.
This is a broad, hands-on position supporting employees and managers across a busy manufacturing environment. The successful candidate will provide practical HR guidance, help resolve complex employee matters and contribute to the continued development of local people processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide day-to-day HR support and guidance to employees and managers
- Manage employee relations matters, including absence, performance, conduct and grievance cases
- Support organisational change and continuous improvement initiatives
- Interpret and apply company policies, employment legislation and collective agreements
- Work constructively with employee representatives and trade unions
- Support recruitment, onboarding, workforce planning and employee development
- Identify opportunities to improve HR processes and the overall employee experience
- Build trusted relationships across the site and wider organisation
- Contribute to projects and responsibilities beyond the immediate remit of the role

Experience Required
- Broad generalist HR experience, ideally gained within a manufacturing, engineering, automotive, aerospace, food, pharmaceutical or similarly regulated environment
- Experience supporting an operational or site-based workforce
- Knowledge of UK employment law and good HR practice
- Experience working with trade unions or within a unionised environment
- Confidence managing sensitive and complex employee relations cases
- Strong communication and stakeholder-management skills
- A practical, proactive and solutions-focused approach
- CIPD qualification or equivalent experience would be advantageous
