AMETEK (GB) LTD is headquartered out of Leicester in the UK and is part of AMETEK Europe, the regional corporate organisation providing in-country infrastructure and support to all business unit in the UK. We provide shared services for order processing, finance and compliance control, reporting, HR And IT. We support and facilitate business development and market expansion within the UK by providing local market knowledge and presence, direct access to customers and partners, regional marketing activities and support with local business culture and compliance control. We are currently a diverse team of 190 employees dispersed across the UK and Northern Ireland.

Role Purpose

This role will be responsible for providing support to the HR function of Ametek (GB) Ltd on a day-to-day basis. This role acts as a first point of contact for HR related queries from employees and external partners and contributes to the development and maintenance of the HR function overall.

  • Maintain all records on the HR systems in line with changes to contracts, salary reviews and any other information that is relevant to this system, whilst ensuring accuracy and complete confidentiality.
  • Support the full employee lifecycle: recruitment, onboarding, offboarding and HR reporting.
  • Provide HR advice and guidance to managers and employees on HR policies, procedures, and employment matters.
  • Support employee relations cases, including disciplinaries, grievances, absence management, flexible working requests, and investigations.
  • Maintains all internal cloud-based databases.
  • Updates all employment documentation included policies and procedures.
  • Provides support for 3 monthly payrolls.
  • Support project work as required.
  • Support performance review and appraisal processes.
  • Adheres to all company policies, procedures and business & ethics codes.
  • Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information appropriately.
  • Collaborate on cross-country HR projects and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Demonstrated ability and willingness to use AI tools to improve productivity, decision-making, work quality, and to reduce costs. The successful candidate must be able to identify appropriate AI use cases and critically evaluate AI-generated outputs.

Experience, Skills and Qualifications

  • HR qualification, either a university degree or CIPD qualifications, with 2 or more years of experience in an HR position, ideally generalist.
  • Interests in the whole range of HR activities (talent acquisition and development, HR communication, etc).
  • Previous experience in a similar role.
  • Excellent verbal, written and numeracy skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to multi-task.
  • Strong IT skills – Microsoft Office.
  • Able to work independently and on own initiative within specified guidelines or processes.
  • Ability to work appropriately with confidential and sensitive information.
  • Adaptability to handle changing circumstances at short notice.
