Macildowie are working with this client based in North Nottinghamshire to recruit an experienced HR Generalist / HR Advisor on an exclusive basis.
This is an urgent temporary requirement with the potential to become permanent for the right person. Due to the timescales involved, we're looking for somebody who is immediately available to interview and able to start at short notice.
Working within a fast-paced engineering and manufacturing environment, this is a genuinely broad and hands-on generalist HR opportunity.
You'll work closely with the HR Manager, supporting managers and employees across the full employee lifecycle while taking ownership of the important day-to-day HR administration that keeps a busy operational site running effectively.
This isn't a role for somebody looking to step away from operational HR. You'll be visible across the site, comfortable working with an operational workforce and equally happy supporting an employee relations issue, coordinating recruitment or getting into the detail of HR systems, payroll information and employee documentation.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
