HR Graduate / HR Assistant

Are you a recent HR graduate looking to start your career?
We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated HR Graduate / HR Assistant to join my client's HR team.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone at the beginning of their HR career. Previous HR experience is not essential but beneficial, if you have the right attitude, a willingness to learn, and a genuine interest in developing a career in Human Resources, this is the role for you.
You will receive support and guidance from the wider HR team while gaining hands-on experience across a broad range of HR activities.
About the role
This is a varied and hands-on position, so you will need to be someone who is happy to roll up their sleeves, get stuck in, and learn as you go.
You will support the HR team with the day-to-day administration of the department, including:
- Preparing contracts, offer letters, and new starter packs.
- Setting up and maintaining accurate electronic and paper employee records.
- Supporting new starter onboarding and induction.
- Processing employee joiners and leavers.
- Updating HR and payroll systems and ensuring information is accurate.
- Providing information and data for payroll processing.
- Supporting recruitment administration, including arranging interviews and managing interview diaries.
- Liaising with recruitment agencies and candidates.
- Processing interview expenses.
- Requesting and following up references and probation reviews.
- Supporting DBS and employment vetting processes.
- Maintaining absence records and supporting the HR team with absence administration.
- Monitoring and responding to the HR inbox.
- Producing regular HR reports and data.
- Scanning, copying, filing, and archiving HR documentation.
- Responding to routine employee and external enquiries professionally and confidentially.
- Supporting the HR Adviser and Head of HR with projects and other HR activities.

You may be a recent HR graduate, someone who has completed an HR-related degree or qualification, or someone looking to take their first step into a career in HR.
Most importantly, you will be:

- Happy to take on administrative tasks and learn the fundamentals of HR.
- Organised and able to manage competing priorities.
