What the role is

Working Hours: 37.5 hours, Monday – Friday
Contract Type: Permanent
Location: Lytham St Annes

The role of HR Lead will involve working closely with the Heads of Department, People Managers and employees to provide professional, high-quality customer focused HR advice, guidance, and support, focused on the attraction, development, engagement and retention of talent across the business.

Working closely with the business in aligning HR initiative with business objectives and developing and delivering the HR strategy and policies, ensuring compliance with employment legislation, and fostering a positive high-performing workplace culture which fits with our values.

Managing and resourcing a team of HR professionals to deliver all of the above.

HR Strategy and Leadership

  • Work with the Board to implement HR strategies that support organisational goals.
  • Partner with Heads of Department to drive workforce planning and organisational development.
  • Provide expert HR advice to managers and leadership teams.
  • Lead and deliver HR projects and change initiatives.

Recruitment and Talent Management

  • Support People Management with recruitment needs, managing end-to-end recruitment and selection processes, including support with interviewing.
  • Develop talent acquisition strategies to attract high-quality candidates.
  • Support succession planning and talent development initiatives.
  • Oversee onboarding and deliver high-quality induction programs to give new employees the best start to their working life at Danbro.

Employee Relations

  • Provide guidance on employee relations issues, including disciplinary and grievance matters.
  • Support managers in resolving workplace conflicts and performance concerns.
  • Promote employee engagement and wellbeing initiatives.
  • Foster an inclusive and positive workplace culture.

Performance Management

  • Lead the performance review process across the organisation.
  • Support managers in setting objectives and managing employee performance.
  • Identify capability gaps and implement development solutions.

Learning and Development

  • Assess organisational training needs.
  • Coordinate learning and development programmes.
  • Encourage continuous professional development across the workforce.

HR Operations and Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with employment legislation and company policies.
  • Provide reports to the People Managers to assist them with managing, identifying and retaining good people. Keeping them up to date with changes in employment law and best practice.
  • Maintain and update HR policies, procedures, and employee handbooks with support from our external legal advisers.
  • Oversee HR systems, records, and reporting. Ensuring all relevant paperwork and changes to employment are completed and accurately recorded.
  • Collate payroll data each month, working with the Finance Team to ensure a smooth and accurate payroll process.
  • Monitor HR metrics and provide insights to support business decision-making.
  • Organise and lead the activities of the People Team to reinforce fairness & transparency across the Danbro Group.

  • Ensure fair and consistent application of reward practices.

Expected Salary

What Skills are required

  • CIPD Level 5 qualification and/or 3 – 4 years’ proven experience in Human Resources.
  • The ability to research, analyse and make logical decisions within a given timeframe.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work with people at all levels of seniority.
  • High level of integrity and confidentiality.
  • The ability to influence and build strong and trusted relationships with relevant stakeholders.
  • Excellent writing ability to present clear and equitable company policies.
  • Strong knowledge of employment legislation and HR best practices.
  • Experience in managing employee relations matters.
  • Strong organisational and problem solving skills.
  • Working knowledge of HR systems and software.
