The Role
Less about us, more about you.
We’re looking for an experienced and empathetic HR Manager to step into a 13-month maternity cover role to keep our people engine running! You’ll own our end-to-end HR operations, balancing big picture people strategy with hands on support across employee relations, development pathways, and culture. You’ll be a practical sounding board and trusted advisor to line managers and leadership, helping them navigate everyday people challenges and support their teams with confidence. If you love fast-paced, creative environments and bring a pragmatic, human-first approach to HR, you’ll fit right in.
Still keen?
Here’s what you’ll be doing…
- Mastering HR Strategy: You will lead our essential people operations, ensuring everything runs like clockwork while syncing our internal culture with Spin Group’s big-picture ambitions.
- Navigating Employee Relations: Step up as the go-to expert for complex ER challenges, offering smart support on everything from performance and absence management to grievances and disciplinaries.
- Line Management: Directly manage and mentor our Operations Coordinator, delegating administrative tasks, supporting their development, and ensuring smooth office operations.
- Policy & Compliance: Keep us ahead of the curve by evolving our HR policies and employee handbooks, ensuring we remain fully aligned with the latest employment laws.
- Fueling Growth & Development: Drive our annual appraisal cycles, empower line managers with bespoke team development, and champion our internal career progression pathways.
- Cultivating Culture: Craft and launch impactful engagement and wellbeing initiatives that keep our team thriving and make our workplace magic.
- The Employee Journey: Deliver seamless onboarding for every fresh face, manage thoughtful exit processes, and use that feedback to constantly level up our experience.
- Data & Payroll Accuracy: Keep our records sharp, report on the metrics that matter, and collaborate with finance to ensure monthly payroll is spot on.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
