CMB Engineering is one of the UK's largest independent Building Services Contractors in England and Wales. The business was formed in 1992 and since CMB began it has established itself as a ‘no grief’ partner to national blue chip construction firms.
THE JOB
As our Business continues to grow, we are looking for a HR Manager to join our Senior Management Team within CMB. Although based in the Cardiff Head Office, there may be a requirement to travel to sites in England and Wales.
Working closely with Senior Management and Board of Directors, you’ll be responsible for managing the HR Operations for the Borley Engineering Services Ltd Group of Companies.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Be the first point of contact for all HR related queries.
- Administer all HR related documentation e.g. Contracts of Employment.
- Manage recruitment and liaise with recruitment agencies.
- Undertake inductions for new Staff including Exit Interviews.
- Assist with the Company’s appraisal process.
- Assist with Apprenticeship Programme and liaise with the Training Providers.
- Administer Staff Grievances and Disciplinary Processes.
- Support the Board of Directors by providing regular HR and legislative updates.
- Building management capability through identifying training needs, mentoring and coaching.
- Driving employee engagement, communication and wellbeing initiatives across the business.
- Annual HR policy review and renewal.
- Record and monitor KPI’s
- Any other duties the Company may reasonably request.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
- Full UK driving license (essential)
- Minimum 3 -5 years experience in HR roles or similar.
- Up to date with relevant changes to Employment Law and its application.
- Excellent communications skills and proactive approach.
- Strong organisational skills with ability to plan workloads effectively to meet deadlines.
- Computer Literate (Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word).
- Attention to detail and commitment to high standards
- Ability to use own initiative within the parameters of the role.
- Confidence to engage with employees at all levels
- Positive, proactive attitude towards learning and development
- Strong observational and problem-solving abilities
