HR Manager
Southport | £40,000 to £45,000 | Permanent | Full time | Hybrid
Report directly to the CEO, lead your own HR team, and run the HR function for a growing occupational health business.

The role
Based at our Head Office, Martin House in Southport, you will report directly to the CEO and lead a small HR team. This is a genuine generalist role with real breadth: employee relations, recruitment, payroll oversight, policy and learning and development all sit with you. You will have the autonomy to shape how the function works, with direct access to the CEO and no layers in between.

What you will be doing
- Lead and develop the HR team, acting as the senior point of contact for all people matters
- Advise managers on employee relations casework, ensuring fair, consistent and legally compliant outcomes
- Own recruitment, onboarding and retention across clinical and support roles
- Oversee payroll governance and keep the benefits offering competitive and fair
- Keep contracts, policies and the handbook up to date as employment law changes
- Oversee mandatory training compliance and support learning and development across the business
- Support the CEO on workforce planning, restructures and TUPE transfers as the business grows
What you will bring
- CIPD Level 5 or above, with sound working knowledge of UK employment law
- Experience as an HR Manager or senior HR Business Partner, ideally in healthcare or another regulated sector
- A full generalist track record covering employee relations, recruitment, payroll oversight and learning and development
- Confidence advising senior leaders, clinicians and operational managers
- A practical, hands-on approach: comfortable moving between planning and delivery
- Experience with HR systems and reporting (Sage HR or similar is helpful)

Location
This is a hybrid role based out of our Head Office, Martin House, Southport, commutable from Liverpool, Preston, Ormskirk and Wigan.
