Role Overview
Remote (2-3 days per week). We are looking for an experienced, independent HR generalist to act as the sole, go-to people expert for a distributed workforce across the UK and the US East Coast. Working on a flexible, part-time or fractional basis, you will partner directly with the COO to lead both day-to-day HR operations and manage complex, multi-jurisdictional employment law compliance.
About the Company
You will be joining a highly successful, publicly listed digital health and wellness company that serves millions of end-users, healthcare providers, and employers worldwide. Operating at the intersection of digital therapeutics and workplace wellbeing, this organisation offers the chance to make a tangible, global impact in the fast-growing health tech sector. You will be part of an international team where your pragmatic approach, commercial judgement, and ability to translate complex legal requirements into easily understood policies will be highly valued and supported.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities
- Own the complete employee lifecycle across the UK and US, issuing offers, drafting contracts, and managing seamless onboarding and offboarding.
- Maintain the HRIS to ensure all employee records remain accurate, audit-ready, and compliant with UK GDPR and US equivalent data standards.
- Liaise with UK and US payroll providers and benefits brokers, and support staff through open enrolment periods.
- Advise on and maintain compliance for UK employment law, preparing for the 2026 changes to statutory sick pay and the Employment Rights Act, alongside managing TUPE, redundancy, and right-to-work checks.
- Advise on US employment matters, specifically handling New York and New Jersey state requirements such as NY/NJ paid family leave, NY paid sick leave, pay transparency rules, and WARN obligations.
- Manage employee relations casework end-to-end across both jurisdictions, from informal mediations to formal grievance, disciplinary, and performance processes.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
