HR Manager - Full Time and Permanent, Taunton / Wellington - with travel, Hybrid opportunity, £45,000 - £55,000

Well Placed HR is pleased to be working exclusively with a well-established, multi-site care provider in Somerset and Devon to recruit an experienced HR Manager.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced HR Manager to take ownership of the people function across multiple specialist nursing homes, supporting managers to build engaged, high-performing teams while ensuring HR best practice and compliance remain at the heart of the business.

Working closely with the senior leadership team, you will provide both strategic and operational HR support, leading on employee relations, recruitment, compliance, performance management and people initiatives across the group.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Leading the HR function across multiple nursing homes.
  • Providing expert advice and support to managers on employee relations matters, including disciplinary, grievance, capability and absence management.
  • Managing workplace investigations and supporting conflict resolution.
  • Developing and maintaining HR policies, procedures and employment documentation.
  • Leading recruitment campaigns and supporting onboarding and retention initiatives.
  • Working alongside the Training Manager to oversee inductions, probation and mandatory training compliance.
  • Producing HR reports and analysing metrics, including absence, turnover and recruitment activity.
  • Supporting wellbeing initiatives, occupational health referrals and return-to-work plans.
  • Ensuring compliance with employment legislation, safer recruitment practices, DBS requirements and CQC standards.

What We're Looking For

  • Previous experience as an HR Manager or Senior HR Generalist within the care sector.
  • Strong employee relations experience, including managing disciplinary, grievance and capability processes.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of UK employment legislation and HR best practice.
  • Experience supporting managers across multiple sites.
  • Knowledge of safer recruitment, DBS processes and CQC compliance.
  • Excellent communication, coaching and stakeholder management skills.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities.
  • CIPD Level 5 (or above) is desirable.
  • A full UK driving licence and willingness to travel between sites.
