Site HR Manager
Bridgwater, Somerset | Four Days per Week Onsite | 12-Month FTC | £40,000-£45,000 + Bonus and Benefits
An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Site HR Manager to join a busy manufacturing operation in Bridgwater on a 12-month fixed-term contract.
This position requires four days per week onsite in Bridgwater. Working as a trusted partner to operational leaders, employees, and trade union representatives, you will deliver a comprehensive generalist HR service while helping to shape the site's people strategy.
This is a hands-on position suited to an HR professional who enjoys being close to operations, building trusted relationships, and achieving practical results.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage HR activity across the complete employee lifecycle
- Advise and coach managers on employee relations, policies, and HR best practice
- Develop constructive relationships with trade unions and site stakeholders
- Lead employee engagement, wellbeing, diversity, and inclusion initiatives
- Analyse workforce data and translate findings into effective actions
- Support workforce planning, recruitment, talent development, and succession
- Improve the candidate and onboarding experience
- Contribute to an inclusive, collaborative, and high-performing site culture
- Handle sensitive employee information in accordance with GDPR

Skills and Experience
- Substantial HR generalist experience
- Strong knowledge of UK employment law
- Confident stakeholder management and influencing skills
- Experience supporting employee relations matters
- Strong analytical, communication, and organizational abilities
- Empathy, emotional intelligence, and sound professional judgement
- Understanding of data protection and confidentiality requirements
- Availability to work onsite in Bridgwater four days per week

Manufacturing, FMCG, logistics, or fast-paced operational experience is desirable. Trade union experience would be an advantage.
Salary And Benefits
- Base salary of £40,000-£45,000
- Up to 10% annual bonus, pro rata
- Private medical insurance
- Pension contributions matched from 1% to 8%
- 25 days' annual leave plus bank holidays, pro rata
