HR MANAGER JOB SUMMARY:

We are working with a well-established business who operates across the construction products and services sector, supporting customers across a range of commercial and construction projects. As the business continues to grow, they are looking for an experienced HR Manager to take full ownership of the HR function across the organisation. This is a standalone HR role, giving you the opportunity to shape HR policies, processes and best practice across the Group, while working closely with senior leadership.

THE HR MANAGER:

As Group HR Manager, you will be responsible for the full HR lifecycle, providing practical and commercially focused HR support to managers and employees across the business. You will manage day-to-day HR operations while also taking ownership of HR policies, employee relations, recruitment, compliance, training and development. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced HR Manager or HR Advisor looking for a role where they can make a real impact and the autonomy to develop the HR function.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide day-to-day HR advice and guidance to managers across the business.
  • Lead and manage disciplinary, grievance and performance management processes, ensuring procedures are handled fairly, consistently and in line with employment legislation.
  • Develop, review and maintain HR policies, procedures, the Employee Handbook and data protection documentation.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential employee records and HR documentation.
  • Manage absence and attendance, including absence monitoring and back-to-work interviews.
  • Take ownership of the end-to-end recruitment process, including job descriptions, advertising, agency management, interview coordination and supporting managers with selection decisions.
  • Oversee new starter and onboarding processes, including contracts, employment documentation and inductions.
  • Manage leaver and offboarding processes, ensuring all relevant documentation and records are completed.
  • Coordinate the probation review process, ensuring managers are aware of key dates and required actions.
  • Maintain accurate training records and certification, identifying and arranging additional training where required.
  • Prepare and collate relevant HR information for payroll, including new starters, leavers, pay changes and absence information.
  • Manage holiday administration and maintain an accurate central holiday calendar.
  • Coordinate annual Workstation Risk Assessments and support wider HR compliance activity.
  • Keep up to date with changes in UK employment law and HR best practice, ensuring policies and processes remain compliant.
  • Support the continued development of a positive, professional and productive workplace culture.
  • Undertake other HR-related projects and responsibilities as required by the senior leadership team.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
