HR Manager | Chesterfield
Our client is an international, family-run fashion brand that designs contemporary womenswear. This role is fully onsite in the Chesterfield office, where circa 70 people sit across Product, Merchandising and Operations functions.
The role
They are looking for an HR Manager to be the main HR contact for the Chesterfield office. You will work independently, with support from the HR Director, and advise managers and employees on the full range of people matters, with particular focus on Employee Relations. The role also covers learning and development, early careers, engagement and HR operations, and you will help embed a newly launched HR system. The role is currently a stand-alone position, with scope to grow the team over time.

What you will do
- Manage employee relations cases from start to finish, including investigations, disciplinaries, grievances, capability and absence
- Advise and coach managers across Product, Merchandising and Operations on people management
- Deliver learning and development for managers and run the internship and early careers programme
- Support onboarding, workforce planning, succession and talent development
- Look after HR records, reporting and process improvement, and support payroll and benefits
- Organise local engagement, wellbeing and social activity
About you
- CIPD Level 5 or 7 qualified, or equivalent experience
- At least 5 years in a generalist HR role, such as HR Manager, Senior HR Advisor or HR Business Partner
- Proven experience handling complex ER cases independently, with sound knowledge of UK employment law
- Confident and direct, able to build good relationships with senior and creative stakeholders
- Comfortable analysing people data and using it to advise the business
- Experience with an HRIS is useful, and Rippling in particular is a bonus
