HR Manager

Location: Reading (Hybrid – 2 days per week)
Compensation: Up to £60,000 + Benefits
Contract: 6-Month Fixed-Term Contract

Hawkwood are delighted to be partnering with a leading global SaaS provider, helping organisations digitise procurement, supplier management and business spend, to hire an HR Manager on a six-month fixed-term contract during a pivotal period of transformation.

As part of this transformation, the business is investing in a modern, commercially focused People function that will play a pivotal role in supporting its next phase of growth. Backed by leading private equity investors Pollen Street Capital and DBAY Advisors, the organisation is continuing to invest in its people, technology and international expansion across the UK, Europe and the US.

Working closely with senior leadership, you'll have the opportunity to shape a newly evolving People function and deliver initiatives that have genuine board-level visibility. From leadership development and performance management to international HR projects and organisational change, you'll play a key role in building the people foundations that will support the business through its next phase of growth. Offering significant autonomy, variety and influence, this is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys creating impactful HR solutions within a fast-paced technology environment.

What you'll do:

  • Partner with senior leaders to deliver strategic HR initiatives across the business.
  • Lead complex Employee Relations activity, including supporting managers across international markets.
  • Design and implement Learning & Development initiatives, with a particular focus on leadership and management capability.
  • Develop and embed performance management frameworks, processes and supporting metrics.
  • Build talent development and succession planning programmes to identify and retain high-potential employees.
  • Coach managers on performance improvement, employee development and organisational effectiveness.
  • Support wider organisational change initiatives as the business prepares for its next stage of growth.
  • Contribute to the continued evolution of the People function, implementing scalable processes and best practice.

You will bring:

  • Proven HR Business Partner or HR Manager experience within a fast-paced commercial environment.
  • Strong Employee Relations experience, ideally including exposure across multiple countries.
  • Experience designing or delivering Learning & Development programmes.
  • A track record implementing performance management processes, frameworks or appraisal systems.
  • Experience partnering with senior stakeholders to drive organisational improvement.
  • Previous experience within SaaS, technology or another high-growth environment would be highly advantageous.
  • A highly proactive, commercially minded approach, with the confidence to work autonomously and deliver at pace.
  • A passion for building modern, high-performing people functions that create measurable business impact.
