HR & Payroll Manager
Currently supporting a growing organisation to recruit an experienced HR & Payroll Manager to lead day-to-day Human Resources operations and oversee the outsourced payroll function to cover a 12mths FTC (maternity cover).
About the Role
This is a broad operational role offering a mix of transactional HR, payroll management, process improvement and stakeholder support and supervising an HR Officer. This would suit an HR Manager or Payroll Manager or, ideally, someone with a mix of both.
Key Responsibilities
- Managing end-to-end transactional HR processes, including recruitment administration, onboarding, contracts, changes and leavers.
- Acting as the main point of contact for the outsourced payroll provider, ensuring payroll data is accurate, compliant and submitted on time.
- Providing advice and guidance to managers on HR and payroll processes and supporting employee casework.
- Developing and improving HR systems, processes, workflows and documentation.
- Establishing and managing an HR and Payroll helpdesk function to support employees and managers.
- Ensuring compliance with employment legislation, payroll regulations, pensions and internal policies.
- Supporting the ongoing development of the HR function and contributing to future service improvements.

- Strong experience across operational HR and payroll management. - Essential
- Previous experience working with outsourced payroll providers or with in-house payroll experience.
- Good understanding of UK employment law, payroll legislation and HR processes. - Essential
- Excellent organisation, stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Experience improving processes, systems and ways of working.
