Part-Time HR Manager

We are looking for an experienced and proactive HR Manager to join our growing team on a part-time basis.

This is a hands-on role suited to someone who is confident managing the full employee lifecycle while ensuring our HR practices, policies and documentation remain compliant with UK employment law and support the needs of the business.

Position: HR Manager – Part-Time

Hours: 20 hours per week

Salary: £16,000–£20,000 per annum, depending on experience

Working arrangement: Hybrid

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage day-to-day HR operations and provide practical HR advice to management and employees.
  • Manage the employee lifecycle, including recruitment, onboarding, probation, performance management and offboarding.
  • Prepare and maintain employment contracts, HR documentation and employee records.
  • Review and develop HR policies, procedures and the Employee Handbook.
  • Support managers with employee relations matters, including absence, conduct, capability, grievances and disciplinary processes.
  • Ensure HR practices remain compliant with current UK employment legislation and best practice.
  • Manage holiday, sickness and other employee leave processes.
  • Support recruitment activities, including job descriptions, interviews and offers.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential HR records and support GDPR compliance.
  • Assist with staff development, engagement and performance review processes.
  • Provide HR reports and updates to senior management as required.

About You

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has previous experience in an HR Manager, HR Advisor or similar generalist HR role.
  • Has strong practical knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practice.
  • Is comfortable working independently and taking ownership of the HR function.
  • Has experience drafting and reviewing HR policies, contracts and procedures.
  • Can confidently advise managers on employee relations matters.
  • Has excellent communication, organisation and interpersonal skills.
  • Handles sensitive and confidential information professionally.
  • Is CIPD qualified or working towards a CIPD qualification — desirable but not essential depending on experience.
