The Opportunity
This is a rare and exciting opportunity to join a fast-growing education organisation at a pivotal point in its journey. With significant expansion plans, multiple school integrations, large-scale people projects and a growing workforce, you'll play a key role in shaping the future of the HR function and wider organisation. The role has been created as a genuine deputy to the Head of HR, offering the opportunity to influence strategy whilst maintaining hands-on involvement in complex operational and transformation activity.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the day-to-day operational delivery of HR services across a multi-site organisation.
- Act as a trusted adviser on complex employee relations, employee engagement and organisational change matters.
- Support significant growth activity including TUPE transfers, school integrations and workforce transformation projects.
- Oversee payroll, pensions, compliance and people operations.
- Drive continuous improvement across HR systems, processes and reporting.
- Develop meaningful people analytics and workforce insights to support decision-making.
- Build strong relationships with senior leaders, Headteachers and key stakeholders across the organisation.
- Act as deputy to the Head of HR and provide leadership across the wider HR team

Ideal Candidate
We're looking for an experienced HR leader who thrives in a fast-paced, evolving environment. You will bring:
- Strong operational and strategic HR experience.
- Significant employee relations expertise within a unionised environment.
- Experience leading change, consultation and organisational transformation activity.
- The confidence to influence and challenge senior stakeholders.

Education sector experience would be highly desirable, although we would also welcome applications from individuals with relevant experience gained within complex public sector environments.
