About the Department
The Department of Computer Science and Technology is an academic department that encompasses Computer Science along with many aspects of Technology, Engineering and Mathematics. With around 340 academic staff, researchers and PhD students, the Department has an international reputation for research excellence and innovation.

Job Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced HR professional to join us as HR Manager on a nine-month fixed-term basis or secondment opportunity, providing cover during the secondment of the current role holder. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting the Department through a busy academic year.

Responsibilities
As HR Manager, you will be responsible for:
- Providing accurate and timely advice and guidance to staff on HR related matters across the employee lifecycle.
- Working collaboratively with senior members of the Department to develop, implement and maintain the Department's HR strategy.
- Promoting best practice in line with the University's policies and procedures.
- Supporting areas such as recruitment, probation, staff review and development, capability and sickness absence processes.
- Building and maintaining effective working relationships with colleagues at all levels.
Requirements
Previous experience at HR Manager level is not essential, provided candidates can demonstrate the skills and experience required to succeed in the role. Candidates should, however, have a strong understanding of HR policies, procedures and processes within the University of Cambridge.
