We are working exclusively with our client to appoint an experienced and proactive HR Manager to join at an exciting period of change and growth for the business. You will report to the Business Unit Director at site with dotted line into the HR Director in the US. You will be happy in stand-alone, end to end capacity for your site, in collaboration with the wider HR team in the UK and wider Global group. This role gives you the opportunity to influence people practices and business improvements in a professional environment, giving genuine progression through growth and change, as well as working closely with managers to deliver an effective, commercially focused people service.
This is a varied generalist HR role with a strong emphasis on employee relations, coaching managers, recruitment, change management, and supporting business-wide HR initiatives. The successful candidate will be confident working independently, building strong stakeholder relationships, and driving best practice across all aspects of HR.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide expert advice and guidance to managers on HR policies, procedures, employment legislation, and best practice.
- Lead and support complex employee relations cases, including disciplinary, grievance, absence management, and performance matters.
- Partner with managers to develop effective people management skills through coaching and training.
- Support organisational change initiatives and contribute to business improvement projects.
- Work collaboratively with Occupational Health and management teams to promote employee wellbeing.
- Manage recruitment activity across a range of roles as the business grows, ensuring an efficient and positive candidate experience.
- Support apprenticeship programmes, liaising with local education providers and mentoring apprentices throughout their development.
- Produce HR reports, analyse workforce data, and utilise HR systems to support informed business decisions.
- Develop, review, and implement HR policies and procedures in line with current employment legislation.
- Support managers with workforce planning, headcount reporting, and forecasting.
- Ensure employment contracts, job descriptions, and HR documentation remain accurate and legally compliant.
- Contribute to a variety of HR projects and continuous improvement initiatives.

About You
We're looking for a knowledgeable HR professional who enjoys building relationships, solving people challenges, and supporting managers to achieve positive business outcomes with a balanced approach for business and employees.
- Previous experience in a generalist HR capacity, and confident working in an autonomous capacity from the ground up.
- Strong employee relations case management experience.
- Excellent working knowledge of UK employment law.
- Experience supporting organisational change.
- Experience working across multiple sites would be advantageous.
- Strong HR systems (HRIS) experience and confidence in producing reports.
- Excellent communication, coaching, and influencing skills.
- High levels of organisation and attention to detail.
- CIPD Level 5 qualification, equivalent or currently studying towards it.
- Manufacturing or similar environment is advantageous
