HR Manager Opportunity

Here at GXO, we’re looking for an experienced and people-focused HR Manager to lead the HR agenda across our Sainsbury's Transport operation in Hams Hall and our Sainsburys Argos site in Worcester (Shire Park).
Reporting to the HR Business Partner, you'll be a trusted partner to our 3 x Sainsburys sites, providing expert guidance across employee relations, industrial relations, engagement and organisational change. Managing one direct report, you'll play a key role in driving a positive workplace culture, supporting operational success, and ensuring our people are set up to thrive.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a HR professional with union engagement experience, including pay negotiations, who enjoys balancing strategic influence with hands-on operational support!
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the delivery of a high-quality HR service across all sites, providing both strategic and operational people support to drive business performance
- Coach and support managers on employee relations matters, including investigations, disciplinaries, appeals, absence management and employment legislation compliance
- Build strong stakeholder relationships, partnering with operational leaders, customers and Trade Union representatives to deliver positive people outcomes
- Drive engagement, wellbeing and inclusion initiatives, leading recruitment, onboarding, talent development and annual engagement survey action plans
- Lead people change and continuous improvement, managing complex ER cases, TUPE transfers, HR reporting/KPIs and a direct report to ensure an exceptional HR function

Requirements:
- CIPD Level 5 qualified (or equivalent experience) with strong, up-to-date employment law knowledge and a proven ability to manage complex employee relations cases
- An experienced HR leader with a track record of supporting and influencing stakeholders across multiple sites and operational environments
- Data-driven and commercially minded, confident using people metrics and insights to improve key measures such as absence, attrition and engagement
- A skilled relationship builder, able to establish credibility and trusted partnerships with managers, colleagues, customers and trade union representatives
- Passionate about creating great workplaces, with proven success delivering employee engagement, wellbeing, diversity and inclusion initiatives
Benefits:
- 37.5 hours contracted per week, permanent position
- Working core hours of Monday to Friday between 08:00 to 17:00 (flexibility required for business needs)
- Regular travel between all sites will be required
- Salary of up to £50,000 per annum
- 25 days annual leave (plus bank holidays)
