Group HR Officer (CIPD Level 5) - Must Be a Driver

Salary: Competitive + Benefits

Full Time | Permanent

Are you an experienced HR Officer or HR Advisor looking for a varied role where you can make a real impact? We're looking for a proactive, confident HR professional to join our Group HR team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys building relationships with managers, handling complex employee relations cases and getting involved in projects that help shape the future of the business. Reporting to the Group HR Manager, you'll support multiple sites across the business, so a full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle is essential.

The Role

You'll provide professional HR advice and support to managers across the business, ensuring consistent application of company policies and employment legislation. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Managing a wide range of employee relations cases, including disciplinaries, grievances, absence management, capability and performance issues.
  • Coaching and supporting managers on HR best practice and employment law.
  • Supporting organisational change, restructures and consultation processes.
  • Managing recruitment from advertising vacancies through to offers, contracts and onboarding.
  • Preparing employment contracts and HR documentation.
  • Leading and developing the company's apprenticeship programme, working closely with colleges, apprentices and managers.
  • Maintaining and developing the HR Information System (HRIS), ensuring accurate records and producing meaningful HR reports and KPI dashboards.
  • Supporting payroll processes where required.
  • Managing employee communications and the company intranet.
  • Coordinating the company's Drug & Alcohol testing programme.
  • Supporting the Group HR Director with HR projects, policy development and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Ensuring compliance with UK employment legislation and GDPR.

About You

We're looking for someone who is confident, organised and enjoys working in a fast-paced environment. You'll ideally have:

  • CIPD Level 5 qualification (or equivalent).
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in a HR Officer, HR Advisor or similar generalist HR role.
  • Strong employee relations experience with the confidence to manage complex cases independently.
  • Solid understanding of UK employment law.
  • Experience managing recruitment campaigns and onboarding.
  • Experience using HR systems and producing management reports.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise a busy workload.
  • High attention to detail and a proactive, solutions-focused approach.
  • Good Microsoft Office skills.
  • Full UK driving licence and own vehicle (essential).
