Permanent | Term Time | Mon-Fri | 37 Hours | Basildon

Our client is seeking an experienced and proactive HR Officer to join their busy HR team within a well established educational environment. This is an excellent opportunity for an organised HR professional to support a multi-site organisation and contribute to the effective delivery of HR services.

The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring HR administration is completed accurately, confidentially and in a timely manner, while supporting employee relations, recruitment and compliance processes.

Salary: FTE £31,176 (Actual starting salary: £27,938), with performance based annual increments available.

Contract: 43 weeks per year (2 of those weeks in Term Time)

Hours: 37 hours per week, Monday to Thursday 8:00am–4:00pm, Friday 8:00am–3:30pm.

  • Maintain accurate, confidential employee records using the organisation's HR management system.
  • Provide administrative support across employee relations processes, including disciplinary, grievance, probation and performance management cases.
  • Prepare and update employment contracts and associated documentation.
  • Support the implementation of HR policies relating to employee conduct, sickness absence, recruitment and other employment matters.
  • Maintain recruitment documentation, including job descriptions, person specifications and standard HR forms.
  • Administer new starter and leaver processes.
  • Assist with recruitment and onboarding, ensuring all pre-employment checks are completed in line with safer recruitment practices and relevant legislation.
  • Provide professional HR support to managers and employees across multiple sites.

Candidate Requirements

  • A minimum of five GCSEs (or equivalent), including English and Mathematics.
  • CIPD Level 3 qualification or equivalent HR qualification.
  • Previous experience in an HR role
  • Good understanding of employment law and HR best practice.
  • Experience using HR or Management Information Systems (MIS).
  • Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive working relationships at all levels.
  • Highly organised, with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities while meeting deadlines.
