HR Officer (Learning & Development & HR Operations)

The Opportunity

Reporting into the Head of HR and working within a collaborative HR team, you’ll take ownership of the Learning & Development agenda while supporting employee relations, HR operations, compliance, workforce planning and people-focused projects across the employee lifecycle.

This role offers genuine scope to make your mark. From embedding a newly implemented HRIS and developing skills matrices, to delivering management training and supporting succession planning, you’ll be empowered to build frameworks and initiatives that leave a lasting impact on the organisation. You’ll also have the opportunity to contribute to future growth projects, including organisational change and potential TUPE activity.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop the Learning & Development function across the organisation.
  • Design, coordinate and deliver engaging training programmes, workshops and development initiatives.
  • Facilitate training sessions, management development programmes.
  • Create skills matrices, competency frameworks and career progression pathways.
  • Support performance management, talent development and succession planning activities.
  • Act as a trusted HR advisor, supporting managers and employees on a range of people matters.
  • Manage employee relations casework and provide guidance on policies and procedures.
  • Support the delivery of efficient HR operations and ensure compliance across the employee lifecycle.
  • Take ownership of embedding and maximising the use of the newly implemented HRIS.
  • Drive employee engagement initiatives that enhance culture, wellbeing and retention.
  • Produce HR data and insights to support workforce planning and decision making.
  • Support organisational growth projects, change initiatives and potential TUPE activity.

We’re looking for a proactive and commercially minded HR professional who enjoys building relationships, improving processes and taking ownership of projects.

You’ll ideally have:

  • Previous experience in a generalist HR role.
  • Experience supporting Learning & Development, training coordination or employee development programmes.
  • Exposure to employee relations and HR operational activities.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Experience using HR systems and maintaining accurate employee records.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • CIPD qualification (Level 3 or above) or currently working towards qualification.
