About the Role
Worcester Community Trust is looking for an HR Officer to support the delivery and continuous improvement of Worcester Community Trust’s people, training, and organisational development activities. The postholder will coordinate recruitment, onboarding, HR systems, workforce records, staff training, and policy administration. The role will provide practical HR advice, guidance, and support to managers while supporting organisational learning and development.

Key Areas of Responsibility
1. Human Resources and People Support
- Coordinate recruitment and selection, including job adverts, applicant communications, shortlisting, and interview arrangements.
- Manage pre-employment checks, offer paperwork, onboarding, and induction arrangements.
- Maintain accurate and confidential employee records, including sickness, leave, probation, training, and DBS information.
- Provide managers with practical HR guidance, standard letters, templates, and clear processes.
- Support employee relations matters, including sickness, capability, conduct, grievance, and performance processes, seeking specialist advice for complex cases.
- Support with the review and update HR policies and procedures each year.
- Upload approved policies and procedures to the HR system and keep staff informed of changes.
- Produce basic workforce reports and management information.
- Promote equality, diversity, inclusion, and fair employment practice across the Trust.

2. HR Systems and Workforce Information
- Manage and regularly review the Trust’s HR systems to make sure they meet organisational needs.
- Make effective use of system features, workflows, templates, reminders, and reports to improve HR processes.
- Identify and introduce practical system improvements and more efficient ways of working.
- Ensure employee information is accurate, secure, and kept up to date.
- Support managers and staff to use HR systems correctly and make full use of the available functions.
- Work with system providers to resolve issues, introduce updates, and improve how the systems are used.
3. Internal Training and Development
- Identify organisational and staff training needs in partnership with managers.
- Design and deliver induction, mandatory training, and development workshops for WCT staff and volunteers.
- Coordinate internal and external training providers and maintain an annual training programme.
- Develop clear training materials, presentations, guidance, and practical resources.
- Maintain accurate training records and monitor completion of mandatory learning.
- Evaluate attendance, feedback, learning outcomes, and the quality of training delivered.
- Support continuous professional development and improvements in organisational practice.
4. Governance and Board Administration
- Administration support for quarterly Board meetings and the Annual General Meeting.
- Prepare and circulate agendas, reports, and supporting papers.
- Take accurate minutes and maintain action logs.
- Maintain governance records and the organisational policy review schedule.
- Support the annual review and approval of organisational policies and procedures.

5. IT Resources for Staff
- Maintain an accurate register of laptops, mobile phones, and other IT equipment issued to staff.
- Coordinate IT equipment and system access for new starters, role changes, and leavers.
- Arrange the return of equipment when staff leave or change roles.
- Liaise with the Trust’s external IT provider regarding equipment, access, and technical support.
- Support staff with straightforward system access and equipment queries.
- Promote compliance with the Trust’s IT, cybersecurity, data protection, and acceptable-use policies.
6. Limited Financial Responsibilities
- Monitor the agreed training and workforce development budget.
- Check and process training-related invoices and purchase requests.
- Maintain simple records of external training income and costs.
- Provide relevant information for budget monitoring and project reporting.
