Due to continued growth, Cygnet is looking for a motivated and organised HR Onboarding Assistant to join our friendly Central Functions team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys delivering exceptional service, managing processes, building relationships, and ensuring a seamless experience for new starters.
Working in a fast-paced HR environment, you'll play a key role in supporting candidates through their onboarding journey, helping them successfully join our services while ensuring all compliance and pre-employment requirements are met.
This hybrid role offers the flexibility of three days working from home and two days in our Birmingham city centre office, alongside excellent development opportunities for individuals wanting to build a long-term career in HR, Recruitment, People Services, or Employee Experience.

The Role
As an HR Onboarding Assistant, you'll be responsible for guiding candidates through their pre-employment journey, ensuring all compliance requirements are completed accurately and efficiently. You'll work closely with Recruitment, HR, Hiring Managers and Candidates to deliver a professional onboarding experience while maintaining high standards of compliance and record keeping.

Your Day-to-Day Responsibilities
- Deliver a professional and supportive onboarding experience for candidates joining Cygnet
- Process contracts, offer letters and pre-employment documentation
- Conduct and audit pre-employment compliance checks including DBS checks, employment references, Right to Work documentation, sponsorship requirements and English language proficiency evidence
- Liaise with candidates, managers and colleagues to obtain outstanding information
- Provide excellent customer service by responding to emails, telephone enquiries and onboarding queries
- Maintain accurate employee records and update internal HR systems
- Monitor onboarding progress and proactively follow up on outstanding checks
- Support compliance with CQC standards and Home Office sponsorship requirements
- Produce and maintain onboarding documentation and reports
- Assist the wider HR and Recruitment teams with administrative support as required
We're Looking For Someone Who…
- Has previous experience in administration, customer service, recruitment support, HR administration, onboarding or compliance
- Is highly organised with excellent attention to detail
- Enjoys working with people and providing outstanding customer service
- Can manage multiple priorities in a busy environment
- Is confident communicating with stakeholders at all levels
- Demonstrates strong written and verbal communication skills
- Can work independently while contributing positively to a team
- Is proficient in Microsoft Office applications including Outlook, Word and Excel
- Has a genuine interest in developing a career in Human Resources
