HR Operations Manager - 3 Month FTC

Salary: £37,000

Location: Greater Manchester

Contract: 3 Month Fixed-Term Contract

Ashley Kate HR are pleased to be supporting our client in the search for an experienced HR Operations Manager to join their HR team on a 3-month fixed-term contract.

This is a varied and hands-on operational HR role, supporting an allocated portfolio and partnering with senior leaders and managers across a broad range of people matters. You will take the lead on employee relations casework, provide pragmatic HR advice, and ensure HR processes and policies are delivered consistently and effectively.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide professional HR advice and guidance to managers and senior leaders across a broad range of people matters.
  • Manage employee relations casework including disciplinary, grievance, capability, sickness absence, and probation.
  • Coach and support managers through informal and formal HR processes, ensuring policies are applied fairly and consistently.
  • Lead on attendance management, including absence triggers, Occupational Health referrals, and attendance meetings.
  • Oversee recruitment activity and ensure compliance with safer recruitment and pre-employment requirements.
  • Support organisational change, consultations, and staffing changes, including preparation of relevant documentation.
  • Monitor HR compliance across areas including recruitment, contracts, probation, induction, absence, and employee records.
  • Produce and interpret HR data and reports, identifying trends, risks, and areas requiring action.
  • Provide day-to-day management and work allocation for HR Administrators, ensuring an accurate and responsive HR service.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of employment law and HR best practice.

About You

We are looking for an experienced HR generalist with strong employee relations and case management experience. You will have sound knowledge of employment law, excellent communication skills, and the confidence to build credible relationships with managers and senior stakeholders.

CIPD Level 5, part qualification, or equivalent relevant experience is required. Previous experience within an education environment would be advantageous but is not essential.
