Senior HR Operations Specialist
London / Hybrid | Insurance Brokerage | Reports into the HR Director
Our client, a growing insurance brokerage, is looking for a Senior HR Operations Specialist to run the show on people operations. It's a hands-on role for someone who can manage the details and think strategically in equal measure, in a business that takes regulation seriously.
What You'll Do
- Own the employee lifecycle end-to-end - onboarding, probation, reviews, promotions, exits
- Keep HR systems, records and data clean, accurate and audit-ready
- Report on workforce metrics for leadership
- Manage several HR platforms, including the core HRIS, appraisal tool, engagement software and LMS
- Keep the business compliant with UK employment law and FCA people requirements (conduct, fitness and propriety, regulatory references)
- Oversee monthly payroll accuracy alongside the payroll team and an outsourced provider
- Administer benefits and pensions
- Drive process improvements and lead HR projects, from system rollouts to policy reviews
- Line manage an HR Operations Assistant

- Solid HR operations experience, ideally in insurance, financial services or another regulated sector
- Strong knowledge of UK employment law
- Sharp attention to detail and a safe pair of hands with confidential data
- Comfort with HR systems, reporting and Excel (formulas essential)
- Experience with outsourced payroll providers
- A pragmatic, get-it-done mindset with strong stakeholder skills
- Resilience when handling sensitive people matters
