HR & Organisational Change Adviser
The University of Cambridge is seeking an experienced HR & Organisational Change Adviser to join its Human Resources Division on an 18-month fixed-term contract. This is an exciting opportunity to support organisational change within the Vet School, partnering with senior leaders and managers to deliver people-focused transformation and organisational development initiatives.
The Opportunity
This is a varied and rewarding role offering the opportunity to:
- Lead and support organisational change programmes
- Provide expert HR advice on complex employee relations matters
- Work collaboratively with stakeholders to deliver successful workforce transformation
Salary: £35,608 – £46,049 per annum
Contract: 18-month Fixed-Term Contract
Location: Cambridge (Hybrid working – office-based and remote)
Working Pattern: Full Time
Reporting to: Lead HR Business Partner
Duties
Duties may include but are not limited to:
- Lead and support organisational change initiatives including restructures, redeployments, workforce reviews, service redesign and organisational development projects.
- Partner with managers and senior leaders to provide expert HR advice throughout organisational change programmes.
- Advise on change management methodology, consultation processes, employment implications and stakeholder engagement.
- Prepare business cases, role profiles, workforce impact assessments, Equality Impact Assessments and consultation documentation.
- Work alongside the Lead HR Business Partner to engage with trade unions, staff representatives and key stakeholders to deliver effective consultation outcomes.
- Produce high-quality documentation, presentations, communications and consultation materials to support change initiatives.
- Provide guidance on complex HR casework, employee relations and workforce planning.
- Promote best practice, inclusion and organisational effectiveness across the department.

Requirements
The successful candidate will demonstrate:
- Previous experience supporting organisational change, restructures and workforce transformation – Essential
- Strong HR advisory experience, including complex employee relations casework – Essential
- Sound knowledge of UK employment legislation and consultation processes – Essential
- Experience working with senior leaders, managers and trade unions – Essential
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management and influencing skills – Essential
- Ability to manage multiple priorities while delivering practical, commercially focused HR solutions – Essential
- Experience preparing consultation documentation, business cases and Equality Impact Assessments – Desirable
- CIPD qualification (or working towards) – Desirable
