HR Partner

Location: Hybrid working
Hours: Full-time (37 hours per week)
Contract: Fixed Term - 6-month FTC

About the Role

We're looking for an experienced HR Partner to provide a proactive, customer-focused HR service, partnering with leaders across academic and professional services. You'll support a wide range of people initiatives, organisational change programmes and complex employee relations matters while helping deliver the organisation's People Strategy.

Key Responsibilities

  • Partner with senior managers to provide strategic and operational HR advice.
  • Manage complex Employee Relations cases, including disciplinary, grievance, sickness, performance, redundancy and organisational change.
  • Support restructuring, workforce planning and change management initiatives.
  • Lead on safeguarding-related HR matters and ensure compliance with statutory guidance.
  • Coach and support managers on people management and employment legislation.
  • Develop and implement HR policies and best practice.
  • Build positive relationships with Trade Unions and support consultation processes.
  • Lead HR projects and contribute to continuous service improvement.
  • Line manage and develop HR team members.

About You

You'll have:

  • Previous HR Business Partner or HR Manager experience within a complex, unionised environment.
  • Strong Employee Relations experience, including complex case management.
  • Excellent knowledge of UK employment law.
  • Experience supporting organisational change and culture initiatives.
  • Strong stakeholder management, coaching and influencing skills.
  • The confidence to build relationships and challenge constructively where appropriate.

Desirable

  • Experience within Higher or Further Education.
  • Knowledge of safeguarding within an education setting.
  • Experience with job evaluation and workforce planning.
  • Chartered MCIPD (or equivalent).
