Location: Hybrid/Kings Hill, Kent

Salary/package: £25,948.96 per annum

Contract type: Permanent

Hours: Full time, 37 hours per week


HRConnect are looking for an experienced administrator with a good eye for detail and confidence working with systems and numerical information to join their team as a HR & Payroll Assistant.

This is a role where accuracy, confidentiality, and customer service are essential, with responsibility for maintaining employee data, supporting multiple payrolls, and working within relevant procedures, regulations, and service standards.

Why this role matters

The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting the delivery of HR, payroll, and pensions services, ensuring employee information is processed accurately, customers receive timely support, and queries are resolved or escalated appropriately.


What you’ll be doing

  • Processing and updating HR, payroll, and pensions information accurately and within agreed timescales.
  • Ensuring employees receive accurate documentation and are paid correctly and on time.
  • Maintaining employee records across HR, payroll, call management, and electronic filing systems.
  • Providing first-line customer support by telephone, email, and live chat.
  • Responding to enquiries, retrieving relevant information, and providing clear advice and solutions.
  • Escalating complex enquiries appropriately and keeping customers informed of progress.
  • Working flexibly across different payrolls, customer groups, and contractual arrangements.
  • Building effective relationships with colleagues, managers, employees, customers, and external partners.
  • Supporting service improvements, system testing, and HR Delivery projects.
  • Managing competing priorities while meeting service levels and performance targets.

What we’re looking for

  • Previous experience in an administrative, customer service, or office-based support role.
  • Strong numerical skills and confidence working with data, payroll information, or financial records.
  • Good IT skills, including Microsoft Excel, Word, and the ability to learn new systems quickly.
  • Excellent attention to detail and the ability to handle confidential information accurately.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • A positive, proactive approach and a willingness to learn and develop new skills.
  • A good team player who can build effective working relationships with colleagues and customers.
