An excellent opportunity has arisen for an organised, personable and proactive HR & Recruitment Coordinator to join our growing team at Safetech part-time.
We are looking for someone to take ownership of the day-to-day coordination of our recruitment and HR administration, working closely with our Directors, department managers and employees across the business.
This is a varied, hands-on role covering the full employee journey – from advertising vacancies, screening CVs and interviewing candidates through to contracts, onboarding, employee reviews and general HR support.
We are ideally looking for someone to work Monday to Friday and are happy to offer school-friendly hours, such as 9:00am–3:00pm, making this an excellent opportunity for an experienced HR or recruitment professional looking for a role that offers a better balance around family or other commitments.

As the business continues to grow, we are looking for someone who can help us develop the people side of Safetech – ensuring we recruit great people, provide an organised and welcoming employee experience and maintain effective HR processes across the company.
Role Responsibilities
- Coordinate the full recruitment process, working closely with directors and department managers to understand staffing requirements.
- Prepare job descriptions and adverts, advertise vacancies, monitor applications and screen CVs.
- Conduct telephone/virtual screening and first-stage interviews, and coordinate or participate in second-stage interviews.
- Manage candidate communication throughout the recruitment process, including interview feedback, offers and rejections.
- Prepare and issue offer letters, employment contracts and new starter documentation.
- Obtain references, right-to-work documentation and other required pre-employment checks.
- Coordinate new starter arrangements with line managers, including start dates, equipment, system access and training schedules.
- Welcome new employees and conduct company and HR inductions.
- Ensure onboarding documentation, policies and employee information are completed and recorded correctly.
- Create and maintain accurate, organised and confidential physical and electronic employee HR files.
- Prepare HR letters, contractual amendments and other employee documentation as required.
- Maintain relevant holiday, sickness and absence records and monitor important HR dates and deadlines.
- Coordinate probation reviews, 1-to-1s, monthly reviews and annual appraisals, ensuring documentation and agreed actions are completed.
- Support managers with employee performance, development and improvement processes.
- Act as an approachable first point of contact for routine employee and manager HR queries.
- Support absence management, return-to-work meetings and other day-to-day employee matters.
- Assist with grievance and disciplinary procedures, including preparing documentation, attending meetings and taking accurate notes where required.
- Escalate complex or sensitive employee matters to Directors or external HR/employment-law support where appropriate.
- Coordinate the employee leaving process, including documentation, exit interviews, company property, system access and HR records.
- Help maintain and improve HR policies, procedures, templates, recruitment processes and onboarding practices.
- Support employee engagement, retention and other internal company initiatives.
- Maintain complete confidentiality and ensure employee information is handled appropriately at all times.
- Build positive working relationships with employees and managers across all departments.
- Undertake other reasonable HR, recruitment and people-related duties appropriate to the role.

Requirements
- Previous experience within HR, recruitment, people administration or a similar role.
- Experience of recruitment, including screening CVs and interviewing candidates.
- Strong organisational and administrative skills with excellent attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Confidence dealing professionally with candidates, employees, managers and Directors.
- Experience handling sensitive and confidential employee information.
- The ability to manage multiple priorities and follow tasks through to completion.
- Good IT skills, including Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel.
- A proactive approach and the confidence to work independently.
- Good judgement and the ability to recognise when more complex HR matters should be escalated.
Experience supporting employee relations matters such as probation, absence, performance management, grievances and disciplinaries would be advantageous.
A CIPD qualification or working towards CIPD Level 3 or above would also be beneficial, although we are happy to consider candidates with strong practical HR and recruitment experience.
