Position: HR Administrator

Location: Sutton Coldfield, Birmingham (Hybrid flexible working)
Job Type: Full-Time, Fixed-Term Contract (12-months)
Salary: £25,610.65 per annum

About the Role

Look After The People Who Look After Families.

Every day, our colleagues care for families when someone they love has died. It's important work, and it isn't always easy. They deserve an HR team that gets things right the first time: contracts that are correct, questions answered quickly, and records they can trust. That's where you come in.

As our HR Administrator, you'll be the first person many colleagues talk to about their job, their pay, their pension or their paperwork. You'll make sure every starter, change and leaver is handled accurately and on time, and that people come away feeling properly looked after. We call it Taking the Greatest Care, and it applies to each other as much as to the families we serve.

What Your Days Will Look Like

No two days are quite the same. You'll:

  • Be the first point of contact for HR questions, answering what you can and getting the rest to the right person quickly.
  • Run our starter, change, leaver and reference processes, making sure everything meets our service levels and Financial Conduct Authority requirements.
  • Keep employee records complete and accurate by chasing missing information with managers and scanning documents onto our HR system.
  • Handle pension enquiries from colleagues, third parties and pension providers.
  • Manage Subject Access Requests and other legal requests for information within deadline.
  • Let our Employee Relations Manager know when adverse information comes in about new or existing colleagues.
  • Pull together HR reports and metrics for the People Services team.
  • Support our People Advisers and Business Partners with projects, formal meetings and the paperwork behind them.
  • Carry out the checks and audits that keep our HR administration in good shape.

What You'll Bring

You're organised, you notice the detail, and you like helping people. You can juggle several things at once without dropping any of them, and you're comfortable talking to people by phone, email or face-to-face. You're curious about how things work, and you enjoy fixing a problem. You're confident with Microsoft Office, including Excel at an intermediate level. You've probably worked somewhere fast-paced where change is normal, ideally a large organisation with teams in lots of locations. If you've used a cloud-based HR system, that's a bonus.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

We are modernising how we work, investing in our colleagues and technology, and helping more families than any one brand could alone.
