About The Role

We are seeking an experienced HR Specialist to join our client’s team on an interim fixed-term basis until March 2028. Based in Coleshill, Birmingham, this role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to a well-established organization recognized as a market leader in electrical solutions. The HR Specialist will support the delivery of the company's people strategy by providing expert employee relations advice, leading organizational change initiatives, and managing various HR projects. Reporting directly to the HR & Business Change Manager, the successful candidate will act as a trusted advisor to managers across the UK and Ireland, ensuring that people-related decisions align with operational objectives and organizational growth plans. This role is vital in supporting all stages of the employee lifecycle, from recruitment to exit, while fostering a positive and compliant workplace environment.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will hold or be working towards CIPD Level 7 qualification, demonstrating a high level of HR expertise. Significant experience in managing complex employee relations matters independently within an engineering, manufacturing, or industrial environment is essential. Candidates should possess a strong understanding of UK employment law and best practices in employee relations, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels. Proven experience in organizational change, job evaluation, and HR project delivery is highly desirable. Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills are crucial for success in this role.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage job evaluation activities across the organization, ensuring consistency, fairness, and alignment with business needs. Support managers in developing and reviewing job descriptions, person specifications, and organizational structures, conducting role benchmarking, and providing grading recommendations.
  • Act as the primary HR contact for complex employee relations cases across the UK and Ireland. Manage disciplinary, grievance, capability, performance, absence management, redundancy, and flexible working cases from initiation to resolution. Conduct investigations, produce reports, and offer legally compliant, commercially focused advice to managers.
  • Support and lead organizational change initiatives, including restructures and workforce planning. Collaborate with business leaders to develop change management strategies, communication plans, and stakeholder engagement activities to ensure smooth transitions.
  • Provide guidance and support on cross-border HR matters, ensuring compliance with employment legislation in both the UK and Ireland. Develop consistent HR practices while respecting local legal requirements.
  • Assist managers with recruitment and selection processes, ensuring adherence to best practices and delivering a positive candidate experience. Support onboarding activities to facilitate the effective integration of new employees into the organization.
  • Contribute to policy development, employment law compliance, and continuous improvement projects. Stay updated on employment legislation and HR best practices to ensure organizational compliance and effectiveness.
