HR Support Apprenticeship at Regency High School
Regency Academy is looking for a motivated, organised and enthusiastic HR Apprentice to join our administrative team.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to begin a career in Human Resources, gaining practical experience across recruitment, employee records, payroll, absence management and general HR administration within a busy school environment.
You will work closely with the Headteacher, Business Manager and wider administrative team, providing accurate, confidential and professional support to staff across the academy.
Apprenticeship Summary
- Salary: £8 an hour, Automatic pay increase after one year on programme for 19+ year olds
- Working Week: Monday to Friday - 8am to 4pm with a lunch break included
- Hours: 37 hours per week
- Online apprenticeship training: Supported by our skilled tutors
- Qualification: Level 3 HR Support Apprenticeship standard qualification

Key Responsibilities
Recruitment & Selection
- Support the recruitment and onboarding of new employees.
- Process offer letters, contracts of employment and appointment documentation.
- Assist with DBS, safeguarding and other pre-employment checks.
- Maintain accurate induction and recruitment records.
HR Data & Payroll
- Assist with monthly payroll changes, amendments and staff leavers.
- Maintain accurate staff absence and sickness records.
- Update HR and staff management systems.
- Keep electronic and paper personnel files accurate, secure and up to date.

General HR Administration
- Process staff changes and leaving documentation.
- Maintain records relating to absence, overtime and medical certificates.
- Assist with monitoring staff attendance and absence.
- Support formal meetings by taking accurate minutes when required.
- Track HR processes and ensure relevant documentation is completed on time.
General Administration
- Provide administrative support to the wider academy.
- Assist with reception duties when required.
- Communicate professionally with staff, visitors and other stakeholders.
Safeguarding & Data Protection
- Maintain strict confidentiality when handling sensitive employee information.
- Follow GDPR and data protection requirements at all times.
- Understand and follow the academy's safeguarding and child protection procedures.
- Remain vigilant to concerns relating to the welfare and safety of children and young people and report these appropriately.

Training & Development
The successful candidate will obtain a HR Support Apprenticeship standard qualification.
As an apprentice, you will receive appropriate training and support to develop your HR knowledge, administrative skills and professional experience. You will have the opportunity to gain practical experience across a broad range of HR functions while working towards your apprenticeship qualification.
Additional training provided by the academy may also be required to support you in carrying out your responsibilities.
