Zigup are looking for a new People Operations Coordinator Apprentice

You will be studying toward your HR Support apprenticeship L3.

Wage £20,000 a year
Minimum wage rates (opens in new tab)
Training course HR support (level 3)
Hours Monday - Friday (Shifts Range between 8AM-5PM) 37 hours 30 minutes a week

What you'll do at work

Join ZIGUP as a HR Support Apprentice (People Operations Coordinator) and begin an exciting career in Human Resources while completing your HR Support Level 3 Apprenticeship.

Working within the People Operations team, you'll gain valuable experience supporting the full employee lifecycle, from recruitment and onboarding through to payroll administration, employee records and HR compliance. You'll work alongside experienced HR professionals who will support your development while helping you build the knowledge, skills and behaviours needed for a successful career in HR.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a genuine interest in Human Resources who enjoys organisation, communicating with people and providing excellent customer service.

Day-Day Responsibilities:

  • Provide first-line support for HR queries from employees and managers via telephone, email and HR systems.
  • Support the employee lifecycle, including onboarding, contracts, probation reviews, family leave, benefits administration and leaver processes.
  • Maintain accurate employee records and update HR systems to support payroll, reporting and compliance requirements.
  • Carry out pre-employment checks, including Right to Work, references, qualification checks and DBS checks where required.
  • Support HR administration while ensuring confidential information is handled professionally and securely.
  • Assist with producing reports and maintaining HR data to support business decision-making.
  • Work collaboratively with HR, Payroll, Recruitment and Learning & Development teams.
  • Support continuous improvement activities and contribute to projects that enhance the employee experience.
  • Follow company policies, procedures and data protection requirements at all times.

What you'll learn

Course contents

  • Service Delivery: Delivers excellent customer service on a range of HR queries and requirements, providing solutions, advice and support primarily to managers. Builds managers’ expertise in HR matters, improving their ability to handle repeated situations themselves where appropriate. Uses agreed systems and processes to deliver service to customers. Takes the initiative to meet agreed individual and team KPIs in line with company policy, values, standards. Plans and organises their work, often without direct supervision, to meet commitments and KPIs.
  • Problem Solving: Uses sound questioning and active listening skills to understand requirements and establish root causes before developing HR solutions. Takes ownership through to resolution, escalating complex situations as appropriate.
  • Communication & Interpersonal: Deals effectively with customers/colleagues, using sound interpersonal skills and communicating well through a range of media eg phone, face to face, email, internet. Adapts their style to their audience. Builds trust and sound relationships with customers. Handles conflict and sensitive HR situations professionally and confidentially.
  • Teamwork: Consistently supports colleagues /collaborates within the team and HR to achieve results. Builds/maintains strong working relationships with others in the team and across HR where necessary.
  • Process Improvement: Identifies opportunities to improve HR performance and service; acts on them within the authority of their role. Supports implementation of HR changes/projects with the business.
  • Managing HR Information: Maintains required HR records as part of services delivered. Prepares reports and management information from HR data, with interpretation as required.
  • Personal Development: Keeps up to date with business changes and HR legal/policy/process changes relevant to their role. Seeks feedback and acts on it to improve their performance and overall capability.
