At GXO, we're looking for an experienced HR Support Desk Manager to lead our People Services Support function, overseeing colleague support, case management and onboarding services. This is a unique opportunity to bring together ways of working, systems and processes across two organisations, creating a seamless, high-quality experience for colleagues from day one and throughout their employment journey.

Working pattern

This opportunity is on a full-time, permanent basis with a working location of Northampton. We offer a hybrid working setup, with 3 days per week in our UK Head Office in Northampton.

Pay, benefits and more

We’re looking to offer a salary of up to £45,000 per annum, and 25 days annual leave (plus bank holidays). What you’ll do on a typical day

  • Lead and develop the People Services Support Desk, creating a high-performing team that delivers an exceptional experience for colleagues and managers
  • Drive the integration of support services, processes and ways of working following the Wincanton acquisition, helping build a consistent and scalable People Services function
  • Oversee colleague support and onboarding services, ensuring enquiries, cases and new starter activity are managed efficiently, accurately and in line with service standards
  • Use data, feedback and insight to improve service performance, simplify processes and enhance colleague satisfaction across all support channels
  • Partner with HR, Recruitment, Technology and business stakeholders to deliver continuous improvement, technology adoption and future service transformation

What you need to succeed at GXO

  • Proven experience leading a support desk, shared services, HR operations or customer service team within a complex organisation
  • A track record of improving service performance, customer experience and operational efficiency, ideally through periods of change or growth
  • Strong knowledge of HR operations, case management and employee relations, with experience of HR systems and service management platforms
  • Excellent stakeholder management, communication and coaching skills, with the ability to build credibility and influence at all levels
  • A continuous improvement mindset, using data, technology and innovation to drive better outcomes for colleagues and the business
  • Experience with ServiceNow, SuccessFactors and/or Oracle, together with a CIPD qualification or equivalent experience, would be advantageous
