At Shirley Parsons
We’re looking for an HR & Talent Acquisition Specialist to join our People Operations team.
This is a great opportunity for someone who wants hands-on experience, genuine ownership and the opportunity to shape how we do things, alongside a clear path to develop their career across HR and Talent Acquisition.
What you’ll be doing
- Owning our in-house recruitment process from attraction through to onboarding, including direct sourcing, screening, interview coordination and candidate experience
- Building talent pipelines and championing our employee referral scheme
- Developing relationships with schools, colleges and universities to help build our future talent
- Supporting the full employee lifecycle, including onboarding, probation, contracts, records and offboarding
- Producing People dashboards and analytics that help inform business decisions
- Supporting HR policy and employment law updates, internal L&D, culture and engagement initiatives, and company events

Why this role?
- You’ll have the opportunity to make a visible impact and shape our current ways of working. We want someone who brings new ideas and regularly asks, “How can we do this even better?”
- One of your key goals will be helping us increase the proportion of hires we make through direct sourcing and employee referrals, giving you a tangible measure of the impact you’re making.
- You’ll also have a personal development plan, external training opportunities and regular coaching and support from your line manager to help you grow your expertise.
The role will be based 4 days per week from our Aylesbury office, with 1 day per week working from home.
What we’re looking for
- Excellent organisation and attention to detail
- Clear, confident written and verbal communication
- Confidence using Microsoft Office, AI tools and digital systems
- A proactive, can-do approach and genuine interest in HR and talent acquisition
- Previous recruitment experience, either agency or internal, is strongly preferred, alongside familiarity with an ATS or CRM.
