Key responsibilities of the role:

  • Deliver a professional and proactive HR service across the site, providing expert guidance and coaching to managers on employee relations, performance management, conduct, absence, and company policies to ensure a fair and consistent approach.
  • Lead and support end-to-end recruitment and onboarding activities for site-based roles, ensuring vacancies are filled efficiently, offers and contracts are issued accurately, and new starters receive a positive onboarding experience.
  • Drive performance and attendance management processes, supporting managers with investigations, absence reviews, appraisals, objective setting, and occupational health referrals while ensuring compliance with company procedures.
  • Coordinate and support learning and development initiatives, including line manager training, policy briefings, training records management, and maintenance of training matrices to improve capability across the workforce.
  • Support compliance, audit, and governance activities, ensuring HR processes, documentation, and corrective actions meet business, legal, and internal audit requirements.
  • Act as a trusted HR ambassador within the plant, promoting company values and behaviours, supporting employee engagement initiatives, delivering effective communication, and contributing to a positive workplace culture and continuous improvement.

The ideal candidate would have:

We are looking for a proactive and professional HR practitioner with experience in a fast-paced manufacturing, FMCG or similar operational environment. You'll have a strong understanding of UK employment legislation, excellent communication and problem-solving skills, and the ability to build credible relationships with managers and employees at all levels. Organised, adaptable, and customer-focused, you'll be confident managing multiple priorities, supporting recruitment and employee relations activities, and driving HR best practice. A CIPD Level 5 qualification, or equivalent experience, is desirable, alongside a commitment to continuous professional development and a passion for delivering a high-quality people service.
