Your new role

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records in HR databases (e.g., HRIS systems).
  • Assist with end-to-end recruitment: job postings, interview scheduling, and candidate communication.
  • Conduct all compliance checks, including references and DBS verifications.
  • Support onboarding and offboarding processes including documentation preparation and induction coordination.
  • Address employee queries regarding HR policies, benefits, and procedures in a timely and professional manner.
  • Assist with HR projects and the preparation of regular reports.
  • Support absence management: track and report on sickness, annual leave, and other absences.
  • Ensure compliance with HR policies, employment law, and data protection regulations.
  • Provide general administrative support including filing, photocopying, and correspondence.
  • Perform ad hoc tasks as required to support the HR team and wider business.

Training Coordination

  • Coordinate all aspects of staff training and development programs.
  • Maintain training records and ensure compliance with mandatory training requirements.
  • Schedule training sessions, liaise with internal/external trainers, and ensure logistical arrangements are in place.
  • Assist with identifying training needs in collaboration with line managers and HR leadership.
  • Prepare and distribute training materials, feedback forms, and certificates.
  • Monitor and evaluate training effectiveness and produce regular reports on training metrics.
  • Support new employee inductions and orientation sessions.
  • Ensure training activities align with company objectives and individual development plans.

What you'll need to succeed

  • Solid understanding of HR and recruitment processes, including job posting, interviewing, onboarding, and offboarding.
  • Familiarity with training coordination, including logistics planning, tracking, and evaluation of training programs.
  • Awareness of GDPR and data privacy regulations in handling employee and candidate information.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of employment law, including equality, discrimination, and documentation such as contracts and P45s.
  • Experience using HR databases and spreadsheet software for tracking data.
  • Knowledge of best practices in employee onboarding and learning & development (L&D).
  • Awareness of various sourcing strategies (e.g., job boards, social media).
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
