About Farani Taylor Solicitors

Farani Taylor Solicitors is an award-winning full-service law firm committed to providing exceptional legal services with professionalism, integrity and outstanding client care.

We are looking for a highly organised, professional and proactive HR and Operations Executive to join our team. This is a varied role combining day-to-day HR responsibilities with operational and administrative support, including direct support to the Managing Director.

The successful candidate must be highly organised, discreet and confident working in a fast-paced professional environment where priorities can change quickly.

Human Resources Responsibilities

  • Manage the end-to-end recruitment process, including job postings, candidate screening, interview coordination and onboarding.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential employee records and HR databases.
  • Coordinate employee onboarding, inductions and offboarding.
  • Assist with payroll preparation, attendance tracking, annual leave and benefits administration.
  • Support performance management and employee development processes.
  • Respond professionally to employee queries and provide guidance on HR policies and procedures.
  • Support compliance with UK employment law, internal policies and employment regulations.
  • Coordinate employee engagement activities, training programmes and wellbeing initiatives.
  • Support the Office Manager/HR Manager with HR-related responsibilities and tasks assigned by the Managing Director.

Operations and Executive Support Responsibilities

  • Manage diaries, appointments and meeting schedules as required.
  • Handle calls and messages when the Managing Director is unavailable.
  • Manage and respond to emails professionally and promptly.
  • Prepare for client and business meetings, including meeting rooms, refreshments and other requirements.
  • Attend meetings and accurately prepare minutes and action points.
  • Coordinate travel arrangements, including flights and accommodation when required.
  • Carry out reasonable business-related errands when required.
  • Coordinate day-to-day administrative and operational activities across departments.
  • Monitor office supplies, equipment and facilities requirements.
  • Support the development and implementation of operational procedures to improve efficiency.
  • Assist with vendor management, procurement and contract administration.
  • Prepare operational reports and maintain accurate business records.
  • Support budgeting, expense tracking and cost-control activities.
  • Support compliance with health and safety and workplace requirements.
  • Work collaboratively with teams across the firm to support business objectives and projects.

Candidate Requirements

  • Previous experience in an HR, operations, office management or similar professional role.
  • Good understanding of HR processes, including recruitment, onboarding, employee records and general HR administration.
  • Understanding of UK employment practices and HR compliance.
  • Strong organisational and diary management skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • High level of professionalism, discretion and confidentiality.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to prioritise and manage multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Confident using Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word and Excel.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with colleagues.
  • Comfortable supporting senior management and handling confidential or sensitive information.

Desirable

  • Previous experience within a law firm or professional services environment.
  • Experience supporting senior management, directors or executives.
  • Experience with HR systems, payroll administration or employee databases.
  • Experience coordinating recruitment processes from vacancy through to onboarding.
