Role Description
The H&S Advisor is a Contract, on-site position based near Inverness or near Elgin, supporting health and safety across high-risk engineering and construction projects. The role involves conducting site inspections, risk assessments, and audits to identify hazards and ensure compliance with relevant legislation, standards, and company policies. The H&S Advisor will develop, deliver, and coordinate safety training, toolbox talks, and awareness programs for project teams and subcontractors. They will investigate incidents and near misses, prepare clear reports, and support the implementation of corrective and preventive actions. The role also includes collaborating with project managers and engineers to integrate health, safety, and environmental considerations into planning, reporting on safety performance, and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.

- Strong knowledge of Health & Safety and Environment Health and Safety (EHS) principles, legislation, and best practices.
- Experience in Occupational Health and workplace risk assessment within engineering, construction, or related sectors.
- Proficiency in Accident Investigation, root cause analysis, and incident reporting.
- Ability to design and deliver effective Safety Training and safety communication materials.
- Relevant professional qualification (e.g., NEBOSH, IOSH or equivalent) and evidence of ongoing CPD.
- Experience working on high-risk or complex engineering projects, ideally in a site-based advisory role.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and report-writing skills, with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Effective interpersonal skills, able to influence, coach, and engage diverse site teams on safety matters.
