H&S Manager
Are you passionate about creating a world-class safety culture in a fast-paced logistics environment? Can you lead compliance, quality, health, safety and environmental performance across a complex 24/7 operation? Ready to influence senior stakeholders and drive continuous improvement that protects people and supports business success?
We are looking for a H&S Manager to join our Currys site in Newark. You will be a key member of the site leadership team, responsible for driving and embedding a best-in-class Quality, Health, Safety and Environmental culture across the operation. Reporting to the Regional General Manager, you'll lead the site's QHSE agenda, ensuring legal compliance, operational excellence and continuous improvement while supporting GXO's digital transformation journey.
Working closely with operational leaders, customers and external stakeholders, you'll champion safety, wellbeing and environmental responsibility, provide expert guidance on all QHSE matters, and lead a team dedicated to delivering outstanding standards across the site.
This is a full-time, permanent role, working predominately Monday to Friday, with the need to be flexible. There will be a requirement to travel to other sites.

We’re looking to offer a salary of up to £50,000.00 per annum and 25 days annual leave (plus bank holidays). What you’ll do on a typical day:
- Leading the site's QHSE strategy, driving a proactive safety culture and ensuring compliance with GXO standards and UK legislation
- Managing QHSE management systems, audits, inspections and governance processes to maintain regulatory and operational compliance
- Investigating accidents, incidents and near misses, implementing corrective actions and identifying opportunities to reduce risk
- Analysing and presenting QHSE performance data, trends and metrics to support informed decision-making and continuous improvement
- Building strong relationships with customers, contractors, regulatory bodies and internal stakeholders to support site objectives
- Coaching, training and influencing managers and colleagues to improve QHSE awareness, accountability and performance
What you need to succeed at GXO:
- Proven experience in a senior QHSE leadership role, ideally within logistics, transport, warehousing or a similar operational environment
- Strong knowledge of UK Health & Safety legislation and QHSE management systems, with a minimum of five years' QHSE experience
- NEBOSH qualification and NVQ Level 5 (or equivalent), with the ability to interpret and apply legislation effectively
- Experience leading internal and external audits, driving compliance and delivering successful improvement plans
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management and influencing skills, with the ability to build credibility at all levels
- A proactive, digitally minded and solutions-focused approach, with a passion for developing people and creating a strong safety culture
