We're looking for an experienced H&S Manager to lead all health, safety and compliance activities across a complex food and beverage distribution operation for our Greene King site in Greenford. Supporting warehouse, transport and support functions, you'll play a key role in developing a proactive safety culture, ensuring compliance with legislation and driving continuous improvement initiatives. This is a highly visible role where you'll work closely with operational leaders, colleagues, unions and external bodies to ensure safety remains at the heart of everything we do.

This is a full time, permanent, position working Monday to Friday 07:30-15:30 or 08:00 -16:00, some flexibility will be required, this is logistics after all!

We’re looking to offer a salary of up to £50,000 per annum, and 25 days annual leave (plus bank holidays). What you’ll do on a typical day:

  • Lead all health and safety activities across warehousing, transport and support functions
  • Manage risk assessments, safe systems of work, accident investigations and RIDDOR reporting
  • Deliver audits, compliance reviews and improvement plans, including support for BRC standards
  • Produce and present KPI reports, trends and recommendations to senior leadership teams
  • Coach and support managers and colleagues to continuously improve safety performance and engagement

What you need to succeed at GXO:

  • NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent as a minimum qualification
  • Strong experience in health and safety management within logistics, distribution, warehousing or a similar operational environment
  • Experience conducting investigations, risk assessments, audits and driving corrective actions
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence at all levels, including Unions, the local EHO and the Environment Agency
